James Manson Auld
1868 to 1922
------------

James Manson Auld, the second son of Alexander and Catherine Auld (m.s. Wares), was born on the 8th April 1868 in Lyth, Bower, Caithness.

As a 27 year old, he was a witness at his sister Catherine’s wedding in 1895.

He next appears in the 1901 Census as a 32 year-old ‘Lace Warehouseman’ lodging at 92 Angell Road, Lambeth, the home of a 73 year-old builder, William P. Webb and wife, Ellen. There were also two other ‘Lace Warehousemen’ lodging in this house – Alfred Flanders, aged 45 and Sidney Turner, aged 31. James was still single at this time.

He died on the 8th June 1922 at 199 Dartmouth Park Hill, London aged 54. The informant shown on his death certificate was George H. Howe, the second husband of his sister, Catherine Auld, and his full name was shown as James Morrison Auld. The registration of his birth clearly shows James Manson Auld.

James had been a commercial traveller (in lace) for a firm in 53, Grays Inn Road, Holborn, London. It would appear that he never married.
