Catherine Auld, or "Kate", the second daughter of Alexander and Catherine Auld (m.s.Wares), was born on the 2nd February 1870 in Lyth, Bower, Caithness.
She married James Todd, aged 29 and a 'Cycle Agent' of Nether Mills, Crathes, Banchory, Kincardineshire on the 19th June 1895 at the Royal Hotel, Bath Street, Aberdeen.
James was the eldest son and one of seven children of Adam Todd, a farmer, and Helen Todd (m.s. Beverley)
James died at Nether Mills, Crathes in 1915 at the early age of 49. He was described at this time as a 'Journeyman Mechanical Engineer' normally living in Maida Vale, London.
Catherine subsequently married George Herbert “Bert” Howe in about December 1917 in the Paddington district of London. For some unknown reason she is shown as Kathleen Auld.

“Bert” died on the 28th October 197O, aged 84, at 382 Hatfield Road, St.Albans. During the 1914/18 war he was an officer with the Gordon Highlanders at one time based in Ripon, Yorks.

Catherine died on the 5th September 1965, aged 94, in the St. Albans area.
They had no children.
