family of Caithness from the second half of the 18th century
It is important to note that during the 18th and 19th Centuries the family name appeared in various forms apart from AULD - i.e. OAL; OALL; OALD; OLD; OLE; OLL being the main examples
Here is a brief outline of the family.
Alexander Oal - baptised 11th January 1788
William Oal - born 2nd July 1790
Elizabeth Oal - baptised 28th February 1795
John Oal - baptised 8th October 1799
Alexander Oal married Margaret Murray on the 25th November 1814 in Wick. They had three known children:-
John Auld - born about 1817
David Oal - born on the 27th December 1820
Janet Oal - born about 1828
John Oal/Auld married Elizabeth Sutherland on the 16th July 1841 in Wick. They had five known children:-

Alexander Auld, married Catherine Wares on the 26th November 1863 in Wick. They had nine children:-
